Working on the high school yearbook got me hooked into photography. More than two decades later, I am still at it, though the scent of darkroom chemicals is but a nostalgic memory.
I gravitate towards a journalistic style in my photography. I love stories and decisive moments!
My fine art photographic work (street scenes) has received awards. My photos won in two years of participation in the SLO New Times Winning Images contests. My work has also been hung at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art and Steynberg Art Gallery, and I was the January 2010 featured artist at Higher Groundz. I have studied with photographers at UCLA, Brooks Institute of Photography, and Light Photographic Workshops.
I am based in San Luis Obispo, CA, with my family (husband Stan and 6-year-old Hutch), and am willing to travel for a good story.
